After more than a year without travelling, the desire is back. With a fairly clear idea of where to go, I will wait a little longer before starting with the actual preparations. Unfortunately, because of the covid-19 that still exists in the world today, so much so that the US and Russia still have their borders closed to tourists, I don’t think now is the right time to book tickets and B&Bs. As someone who has always been passionate about and in love with Eastern Europe, surely it will be another Eastern European country that will enter my circle of countries visited so far. Not many, to tell the truth, but each country has its own way of making you discover new traditions and introducing you to customs you can’t even imagine. In the meantime, I am content with a few trips around the island and some reading of a good book written by bloggers who have really travelled the length and breadth of the world. A very interesting book to read is Eleonora Sacco’s book: Little Alphabet for Wild Travellers. A very interesting book where the adventures of the small group that blogger Eleonora Sacco takes on the road are meticulously recounted. Another very interesting book is the one written by Dino Mazzini, in which he recounts very explicitly the journeys he has made and everything that has happened to him, from mishaps with his motorbike to the people he has met by chance and kept in touch with. One of the many countries I would like to visit is definitely Ukraine. It has a lot to tell, I will focus on two cities Kiev and Kharkiv. The choice also falls on the fact that the time available is not much: let’s say that in nine days you can visit quite well, then the surrounding villages will certainly be very interesting to visit as well. I am sure that this trip will also enrich my knowledge and cultural background.
I look forward to the start of this new journey and if you feel like facebooking, you can follow me on my page Travelling East or on my personal page http://www.facebook.com/aron.drum
